Prop making is all about budgets. We often view movie props as being junk that’s been hobbled together from spare camera parts and discarded food tins. This can be the case when productions are on a budget. But for larger productions, prop making can be at the forefront of industrial design. Take the production of Stargate SG1 for example. While the show had it’s share of painted Nintendo blasters, the prop shop also made use of CNC mills, laser cutters, 3D printers and more.
The evolution of our own prop shop is no different. We are growing our own capabilities with top of the line equipment to cast flawless props, build advanced animations, and design breathtaking lighting effects. Everything that you see on the screen and think “Wow that’s cool” is what we want to bring to life.
In our endless pursuit of building our own production capabilities we have added Formech vacuum forming technology to our prop shop. Formech is the industry leader for thermoforming machines, and we’re the industry leader of making props in-house. So it’s a perfect fit.
Vacuum forming is a capability that most companies outsource to dedicated fabrication shops. The machines are expensive, creating dies is expensive, and running the machines takes talent. By bringing this capability into our building we’re living by our own standards of internalizing our manufacturing so that we control the process. You deserve nothing less than our dedication if you are going to order props from us.

The flip side is where collectible companies come along and make promises that they can’t keep. Time after time companies have set up announcements at Comic Con, taken thousands of pre-orders, and then disappear. Fans are left robbed of their money and their dreams.
